Woman who text her dad every day for four years after he died gets a reply

A woman who texted her dead dad every day since he passed away four years ago couldn’t believe it when she received an emotional reply recently.

Chastity Patterson took to her Facebook to post a screenshot of the messages, explaining that she took comfort in texting her dad in the morning and updating him at night on how her day went.

Over the course of four years she never received a response, until the night before the fourth anniversary of her dad’s passing on October 25th, when a man wrote a heartwarming response to her message about her year so far.

The 23-year-old, who hails from Arkansas in the US, started her text by saying that a lot has happened in the short time since her dad passed away.

“I beat cancer and I haven't gotten sick since you were here, like I promised you I would take better care of myself,” Chastity wrote.

She went on to say that she finished college and graduated with honours before going back to study again.

Chastity has experienced heartache but she picked herself up and “became an even stronger woman.”

“I lost all my friends and hit rock bottom but I found someone who came into my life and saved me,” she continued.

“I don’t have any children yet, you would be so happy but I’m ready.”

She went on to say that she’s still “driving momma crazy everyday” and that she’s afraid of marriage because she’s have to “walk that long aisle alone and you won’t be there to tell me everything will be okay”.

Despite suffering love and loss, Chastity said she’s going great and believes her dad would be so proud of the woman she’s become.

Chastity then posted a screenshot of the reply she got, which brought her to tears.

It was from a man who said his name was Brad, and he started his message by letting Chastity know that he’s been getting her messages for the past four years and they’ve kept him alive since the death of his own daughter in a car accident in 2014.

“When you text me, I know it’s a message from God,” Brad wrote.

He went on to say that he’s wanted to text her back for years but he “didn’t want to break her heart”.

“You are an extraordinary woman and I wish my daughter would have become the woman you are, thank you for your everyday updates, you remind me that there is a God and it wasn’t his fault that my little girl is gone.”

Brad went on to call Chastity his “little angel” and said that he’s proud of her for everything she’s achieved.

Since the messages went viral, Chastity has again taken to her Facebook to say that the dad wasn’t actually her biological father but “blood could not make him any closer”.

She said he “never missed a school dance, prom, my games and YES he would give me long talks about my mouth and attitude.”

Chastity said she has taken this as a sign that everything is okay with her dad and she is now ready to let him rest.
