Woman loses 25kg by ditching this unhealthy habit
A woman looks nearly unrecognisable after she ditched takeaways in favour of fakeaways and lost 25kg.
Lucy Robathan, a healthcare assistant from the UK, tipped the scales at 95kg at her heaviest, after ordering takeaway almost every day as she curled up on the sofa with her partner.
But after realising that none of her clothes fit her, the 20-year-old was shocked into changing her ways and decided to recreate her favourite takeaways herself at home, after which the weight fell off.
She managed to drop down to 70kg, simply by swapping the junk food for healthy versions she made at home.
“I have always felt uncomfortable with my body but I never had the motivation to do anything about it,” Lucy said.
“I was bullied when I was younger for my weight but as you get older it stops.
“I was very uncomfortable going out with my boyfriend, because he was so fit.”
Lucy said when she got into her new relationship she gained nearly 13kg and realised that they were ordering takeaways most nights or else they’d go out for dinner.
“I used to get fizzy drinks every day and binge junk food-I didn’t really think about what I was eating,” she said.
Her fakeways included a 258 calorie kebab, made by vivera plant kebab, pitta and lettuce, 307 calorie McMuffin fakeaway made with quorn sausage patties and a 250 calorie homemade pizza wrap.
“I found Instagram accounts and started calorie counting and making fakeaways,” she said.
“It was more of a lifestyle change for me rather than a diet, I didn’t feel restricted at all."
Lucy started preparing her meals more carefully and doing weight training four times a week, after which she hit her goal weight.
She admits it was a confidence boost and says she feels more comfortable with herself now.
"It took me almost two years to get where I am right now, weight loss needs patience,” she said.
“I had a lot of people telling me I look great, ask me how I've done it and if I can share any tips.
“My advice for people trying to lose weight would be that it takes time, it doesn’t happen overnight, don’t be too restrictive.
“I think it’s important to keep a balance, don't limit yourself too much and don’t stop socialising because you are on diet. “
