Winnie the Pooh characters based on your zodiac sign

Deep in the Hundred Acre Wood, Winnie the Pooh and his friends have delighted fans young and old for 100 years.

Winnie the Pooh was a children's book written by author A.A. Milne, who based all the characters on his son Christopher Robin and his beloved stuffed animal friends. Over the years, the series became a staple children's story and was eventually brought to the screen and adapted by Disney.

While everyone may have a character from Winnie the Pooh they closely connect with, your star sign may give you a better idea about which character you are most like. Water signs may relate closely to wise and opinionated Owl while Earth signs may relate to the reserved and — sometimes gloomy — Eeyore.

As Milne's birthday was on Jan. 18, the day is celebrated as National Winnie the Pooh Day in his memory. In honor of the special day, read on to learn which Winnie the Pooh character you're most like, according to astrologer Valerie Mesa.

Aries: Tigger

Tigger

Aries, you're most like the bouncy, energetic and fearless Tigger! Mesa says like this Fire sign — ruled by "go-getter Mars" — Tigger "dives into new adventures. He is full of confidence and excitement, even if his enthusiasm leads to a bit of chaos."

Taurus: Pooh Bear

Much like Venus-ruled Taurus, Mesa says Pooh Bear is "sweet, slow-moving, indulgent and content with the simple pleasures of life."

"Everything from his love affair with honey to his peaceful and patient demeanor resembles this Earth sign," she explains. "He’s most in his element when surrounded by comfort."

Gemini: Woozles

Much like Geminis, Mesa says that Woozles are "tricky and clever creatures."

"These mischievous traits perfectly embody Gemini’s playful, fickle and unpredictable nature," she continues. "As the antagonists of the Hundred Acre Wood, they also embody the duality of this Air sign — constantly shifting and full of surprises."

Cancer: Kanga

Kanga

In the Hundred Acre Wood, there's no other character more nurturing and protective than Kanga. Mesa says that her "warmth and innate instinct to care for those around her exudes Cancer energy."

"She’s always there for Roo and the rest of her friends, ready to lend a comforting hug," she adds.

Leo: Roo

Like Leo, Mesa says that "little Roo is full of energy, eager to explore, and always looking for an excuse to have fun."

"His playful and courageous nature matches Leo’s sunny and brave personality," she explains. "He also loves attention and isn’t afraid to show it."

Virgo: Rabbit

Meticulous and practical, Rabbit is truly a classic Virgo. Mesa says that Rabbit is "always doing his best to keep things in order and "is often deeply preoccupied with the details."

Libra: Piglet

Like Libra, Piglet is "gentle, diplomatic and always doing his best to keep the peace."

Mesa adds that "while he often worries about what others think, he always finds a way to create harmony in every situation, which very much resembles Libra’s Venusian persona."

Scorpio: Gopher

While Gopher may not be a character from the original story, Mesa says his "secretive and intense personality makes him a match for Scorpio."

"His tendency to work alone, keep to himself, and dig deep mirrors Scorpio’s affinity for uncovering hidden truths and operating in the shadows especially since Scorpio does — after all — rule the Underworld," she explains. "Like this Water sign, he is determined and not easily deterred — he perpetually focuses on his goals, even when they're buried deep beneath the surface."

Sagittarius: Owl

In the Hundred Acre Wood Owl channels Sagittarius' energy with his "philosophical and adventurous spirit." According to Mesa, Owl's "wisdom and love for storytelling may not always be completely accurate, but he’s ready to share his knowledge and opinions with his friends."

Capricorn: Eeyore

Gloomy Eeyore's "grounded and reserved nature combined with his dry wit makes him a total Capricorn."

Mesa adds that "he’s awfully pragmatic and perpetually aware of his circumstances but somehow manages to get through it all with quiet resilience."

Aquarius: Christopher Robin

Christopher Robin

In the Hundred Acre Wood, Christopher Robin is known as the leader and visionary among the friends in the forest. Mesa adds that "like Aquarius, Christopher is always thinking outside the box, approaching problems with a unique perspective. His imagination and somewhat detached nature fit this Air sign’s forward-thinking and freedom-loving vibe."

Pisces: Lumpy

"Lumpy’s gentle, empathetic nature makes him a total Pisces," Mesa says, "His tendency to forget his name is also very Neptunian (Pisces' planetary ruler), reflecting the dreamy and sometimes forgetful side of this Water sign."

Much like Piglet, Mesa adds that "Lumpy is easily frightened, which resembles Pisces’ sensitivity to their environment."
