New“Wicked” Books You'll Want to Treasure 'For Good' — See the Covers Here! (Exclusive)

A Grimmerie replica, pop-up book and more inspired by the upcoming movie musical are available for pre-order Aug. 1

Wicked fans, you might just start defying gravity when you hear this news!

Ahead of the release of the Broadway musical’s film adaptation — Wicked: Part One hits theaters in November — Universal just revealed six brand new Wicked books, and PEOPLE can exclusively reveal the covers.

From Insight Editions come three collectible items: Wicked: Replica Pop-Up Book, Wicked: Defying Gravity and, modeled after the musical’s iconic spellbook, the Grimmerie Collectible Hardcover Journal.

Two Wicked-inspired additions will also join the iconic Little Golden Books series, I Am Elphaba and I Am Glinda, along with a fun book for all ages — the Wicked Film Official Coloring Book.

The cloth-bound pop-up book “presents the Wizard's arrival in Oz as a beautifully illustrated, thrillifying poem told over 10 spreads and featuring three large, breathtakingly illustrated, fantabulous pop-up spreads,” per an official description.

Wicked: Defying Gravity is an illustrated picture book that accompanies perhaps the musical’s most famous song, Elphaba and Glinda duet “Defying Gravity.”

Along with the song’s lyrics, the book promises “exquisite illustrations” from the movie adaptation, which stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande as the leads.

Illustrated by Carolina Zambrano, the official coloring book will also feature visuals from the upcoming adaptation in a style that's “Art Nouveau and Art Deco inspirations with just a dash of steampunk,” according to an official description.

Scenes featured in the book will include Elphaba and Glinda’s arrival at Shiz University — home to headmistress Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh) — meeting Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) and the lead duo’s trip to Emerald City.

A replica of Elphaba’s ancient book of spells, the 240-page Grimmerie Collectible Hardcover Journal features “a high-quality vegan leather cover with a beautiful deboss design, lined text pages and several pages of original artwork of spells from the film,” per an official description.

I Am Elphaba and I Am Glinda, meanwhile, use “gorgeous retro-style illustrations” to tell the stories of the musical’s green-skinned and pink-gown-wearing leads for readers age 2 to 5.

All six new Wicked books will be available for preorder on Aug. 1, wherever books are sold. Wicked: Part One is in theaters Nov. 22. Part Two is slated for Nov. 26, 2025.
