Fans planning out their Super Bowl party might find themselves facing a challenge when it comes to a staple for party foods: avocado.

The report looked at changes in the price of key ingredients in a classic Super Bowl spread from 2024 to 2025, and a couple of staples saw a big spike in cost.

This included avocados, which reportedly saw an 11.5 percent increase in price from last year to this year, which could complicate things for anyone hosting a Super Bowl party in 2025. For those who want the popular snack dip guacamole at their gathering, it might cost more than they expected to make it from scratch.

But that wasn't the only item that experienced a big price increase, as the cost of cherry tomatoes went up 11.9 percent, making it the highest increase according to the report. Red bell peppers, chicken wings that are raw, not frozen, prepared carrots and a couple of other items also had a rise in price this year.

On the bright side, football fans will reportedly pay less for a handful of other common Super Bowl party food, including salsa dip, tortilla chips, shrimp, and potato chips. Celery had the biggest reported decrease in price at 8.4 percent less than last year.

Luckily for people hosting Super Bowl parties this year to watch the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles, there are plenty of great unique ideas and recipes to shake up your party offerings in 2025.
