Now that football season is over, we hope Josh Allen is diving straight into wedding planning. There is no doubt that his and Hailee Steinfeld's nuptials will be beautiful—especially if the ceremony looks anything like the Buffalo Bills' quarterback's surprise proposal, which Steinfeld hasn't finished obsessing over. And who can blame her? In a new interview, the Pitch Perfect star gushed all about her man and how he got down on one knee.

On November 29, 2024, Steinfeld and Allen shocked their combined 22.1 million Instagram followers by dropping the news that they were engaged. In their joint post, the two are pictured touching foreheads as the football star kneels before the actress, clad in a patterned, long-sleeve minidress and black knee-high stiletto boots. The pair stand in front of a flower-covered arch and gorgeous ocean horizon, surrounded by dozens of candles and flowers. Their caption revealed the moment took place a week before on November 22, 2024.

While speaking to Who What Wear, the Sinners star revealed she had no idea Allen was going to propose that day. When asked if she had an inkling it was coming, she replied, "Oh my God, no!"

She continued, saying, "You talk to your girlfriends about that, right, where you're like, 'I just don't want to know.'"

Although Steinfeld was in the dark about her beau popping the question, he sneakily made sure she looked camera ready. (Nicely done, Allen.)

"I'm so grateful that he did it the way he did so that I looked good, and we have these photos that we'll have and cherish for the rest of our lives that I'm not looking at being like, 'What was I wearing?'" she said.

Despite the fact that she "fully blacked out in the moment," she said it was the greatest day of her life.

"We were in Malibu, which is my happy place, and it was magical. That's the word," she gushed.

Droves of fans and the pair's celebrity friends flooded their comments with well wishes. The news was especially big considering the celebrity couple has managed to keep their relationship largely out of the spotlight, with the exception of an occasional social media post of Beau Society newsletter mention, since they became an item in May 2023.

"When you realize that so much is already out there in every other aspect of your life, you really learn to cherish the little that isn't. It just makes things extra special, and it's just for you," Steinfeld said.
