Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid Have Ended Their Engagement

Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid have ended their engagement, WHO confirms.

The former Cougar Town star and the Snow Patrol guitarist dated for six months before getting engaged in June 2014, though a source told WHO: "They've been having problems for a long time."

Cox, 51, told WHO in April that her then fiancé has a "very sensitive soul," adding, "When I knew that this was just who he is, that he was just a beautiful, sensitive, loving person with a wonderful family, with a beautiful set of friends. Then I was like, 'This is for real.' "

The couple had one of their last public outings in August, just after Cox served as maid of honour for her Friends costar and longtime pal Jennifer Aniston at Aniston's wedding to Justin Theroux.

On Aug. 8, McDaid, 39, preceded a Twitter post that he and Cox would be attending his band mate Gary Lightbody's performance in L.A. with another tweet: "Nothing is what it seems!"

Cox was previously married to David Arquette from 1999 to 2013, and the exes have an 11-year-old daughter, Coco.
