Leah Remini Prepares For Backlash Ahead of Her Scientology Tell-All Book Release

Leah Remini's highly anticipated tell-all book Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology is due to be released in the first week of November, and the 45-year-old actress is preparing for possible lawsuits and backlash.

The memoir describes her 30-year association with Scientology, her rise to fame and ultimately breaking away from the organisation. When Remini left the church in 2013, she said it was to spend more time with her family.

"I decided I didn't want to raise my daughter in the church because from what I've experience and what I saw, the church becomes your everything," she said in her reality series Leah Remini: It's All Relative. "It becomes your mother, your father, your everything. You are dependent on the church."

But the King of Queens star was angered when she was branded a "suppressive person" by the church following her departure. "When you leave, you can leave quietly," she said about the repercussions of leaving. "But If you make a stink in the public world, they call you a Suppressive Person, which means the church has put a stamp on you that says you are bad. They then go to all your family and friends and say you have to disconnect from this Suppressive Person."
