Minka Kelly Rings In Her Birthday with Sean Penn

Just one week after splitting with Charlize Theron, Sean Penn was spotted dining with Minka Kelly at the upscale eatery French Laundry in Napa, California, on June 23.

Kelly was celebrating her 35th birthday and posted an Instagram photo of herself blowing out candles, along with the caption, "Birthday festivities off to a pretty magical start."

But according to the source, this was a just a friendly feast between Kelly and Penn, 54, and not a romantic dinner.

"Sean and Minka have been friends for a long time," says a source. "It was just a group of friends out to dinner and purely platonic."

According to TMZ, the small group, which included three other people, dined on truffle mac-and-cheese and later sang "Happy Birthday" to Kelly as a cake was brought out.
