As Xander in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Nicholas Brendon fought all manner of corporal demons. In real life, fighting inner demons may be a harder task.

On May 16, Brendon, 43, was arrested in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and charged with public intoxication and impairment, according to the Myrtle Beach Police Department's website. It was Brendon's third arrest within a year.

While a rep for Brendon responded on his Twitter account Saturday by writing, "We are not releasing any comments or statements regarding today's events. Thank you," Brendon himself wrote, "Twatters I love you all. Healing waters of Myrtle Beach. We are all human."

Brendon's recent run of bad road began last October, a week after a whirlwind wedding with girlfriend Moonda Tee in Las Vegas, when was arrested at a hotel in Boise, Idaho, and charged with damaging property and resisting arrest. At the time, he wrote on Facebook that he would "seek appropriate treatment and therapy for my medical ailments as well as my emotional demons."

In February, three days after announcing that he and Tee had split, Brendon was then arrested for grand theft and criminal mischief after allegedly wrecking a Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, hotel room and not paying for damages even though he had enough cash on hand to cover costs.

"We are aware that Nicholas' actions are of a much deeper origin, and we are working toward creating a healthy environment for him to thrive in," his rep told E! News at the time. "The past several months have been trying, and Nicholas' disease is damaging and consistently misunderstood. We are doing everything in our power at Camp Nick to assure his recovery."

Even so, Brendon was detained in Tallahassee, Florida, on March 13 for again trashing a hotel room by pulling a phone out of the wall, clogging the toilet and smashing a porcelain figure. After his release from jail, Brendon told the Tallahassee Democrat that he was trying to handle "a lot of the stuff I'm having to deal with in my life, inside of my head, which is not fun and it's not funny."

Brendon added that he had been the victim of childhood sexual abuse and while that did not contribute directly to his recent arrests, "from that moment, my life changed immensely, and I haven't talked about it because I didn't want to use it as a crutch, but I'm seeing as I get older that it did have a huge effect on me."

Yet a warrant was issued for Brendon's arrest on April 8 after Brendon failed to submit weekly random urine samples for analysis, a condition upon his release from jail.

"This is a huge misunderstanding," his rep wrote on his Facebook page. "He was receiving treatment during this time and also followed the conditions of his pre-trial release to the best of his knowledge."
