Where Do Nick and Sandy Stand Now After ‘The Ultimatum’ on Netflix? Well...
While the rest of the country may be deep into festive watching (hello, watching The Holiday for the fourth time), we are still firmly in our reality TV bubble thanks to the third season of Netflix’s The Ultimatum. It’s easily been one of the most dramatic seasons yet, thanks in part to Sandy and Nick.
Sandy and Nick are one of six couples who entered the experiment, which sees one half of each couple issue an ultimatum to get married to their partner who is on the fence about marriage. In order to see where they stand in their relationships and if they’re ready for marriage, all the couples break up and then pair up with another member of the cast and enter a trial marriage. They then enter trial marriages with their original partners. At the end of the trial marriages, they decide if they want to stay with their new partner, get back together and engaged with their ex, or leave the experiment single.
So what have Nick and Sandy decided? Well, here’s everything we know about their relationship status.
First: Who Are The Ultimatum’s Nick and Sandy?
Nick, 38, issued the ultimatum to Sandy, 27, two and a half years into their relationship. Nick wants get married and move out of the city to start a family. Sandy is hesitant to get married—as she’s still in her 20s—and feels like she’s not ready for that stage yet.
What Happened With Nick and Sandy on The Ultimatum?
Upon entering the experiment, the couple “broke up” like every pair. Sandy then coupled with J.R. and Nick with Vanessa for their trial marriages.
Nick was left single when Vanessa got back together with her ex Dave and the pair left the experiment together during the early episodes. This led to Nick turning up at Sandy and J.R’s door, and the three got into a rather heated conversation.
Rather than recouple with someone else, Nick was left to sit and stew on his thoughts while Sandy got closer with J.R. The couple kissed a number of times during their trial marriage and bonded over their physical connection. But it wasn’t just surface level; Sandy’s family really liked J.R., and J.R. told Sandy he thought she would make a great wife and later added he could “absolutely see myself married to someone like Sandy.”
Sandy did spend much of their time together worrying about her relationship with Nick and the way he communicates, and ultimately J.R. and Sandy ended their trial marriage with respect and admiration for each other.
Nick and Sandy then moved back in together and there was clearly tension between the pair with Nick finding it difficult to hear the details of Sandy’s intimacy with J.R., but he did apologize for his previous behavior and poor communication.
When it came to the ultimatum decision, Nick decided not to propose to Sandy and the pair left the experiment single.
Are Nick and Sandy Still Together After The Ultimatum?
Nope! During the reunion episode, the pair revealed they didn’t get back together after filming ended and Nick is now seeing someone new.
Telling hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey about his new relationship, Nick praised his new partner saying: “I have met somebody wonderful, and I feel excited about being with somebody I feel so authentically me with.”
As for where Sandy stands with J.R.? Well, the pair clarified nothing else happened, apart from their kisses, during the show. Outside of checking in with each other after filming concluded, the pair hasn’t been in communication.
