Italy’s Il Pellicano hotel has touched down at Claridge’s with a one-week residency where chef Michelino Gioia and barman Federico Morosi are adding a dash of seaside Tuscan flavor to London.

Gioia is cooking some of the hotel’s best-known dishes, including shrimp risotto with ginger and lime; Maremma-style ravioli with butter and sage; veal cheek with potato cream, chicory and Chianti sauce, and tiramisu for dessert.

Morosi, meanwhile, is shaking up drinks including his famous Teller negroni, an homage to Juergen Teller, and the Pelican martini, which includes Grey Goose orange vodka and lime, sharp and fresh as an early morning dip in the sea.

Il Pellicano’s Issimo shop has also popped up at the The Claridge’s boutique with a selection of products including blankets, cashmere pajamas, and espresso cups and saucers with the signature pelican design.

Claridge’s Flowers, meanwhile, has created a bespoke Hotel Il Pellicano bouquet that aims to conjure the feel of the Tuscan coast with seasonal blooms wrapped in the yellow and white striped paper recalling the hotel’s colors. The residency runs through Saturday.

Sunday Roast at The Twenty Two

Packed with big names like Roksanda, Erdem, Simone Rocha, and Kent & Curwen, Sunday is one of the busiest days during this London Fashion Week.

A wholesome Sunday roast at The Twenty Two would be a great way to start the day. A quintessential English offering with a Mediterranean twist, the menu includes roast Cornish Red chicken and roast sirloin of Aberdeen beef served with Yorkshire pudding and seasonal green, as well as Dover sole meunière, asparagus and pea risotto.

Visit Shiny, New Sloane Street

A view of the newly refurbished Sloane Street in London, which has more green and is more pedestrian-friendly.

Sloane Street has been refurbished for the first time in nearly 250 years, and it’s attracted a host of new and enlarged shops, restaurants and cafes that can compete with the best of Mayfair and Marylebone.

The street, which stretches for one kilometer and links Sloane Square in Chelsea with Knightsbridge, also has wider sidewalks — all made from honey-hued Yorkshire stone — more green spaces, street furniture and lighting.

The street is already home to newly refurbished or expanded stores for brands including Dior, Valentino, Temperley, Brunello Cucinelli, Bottega Veneta and Saint Laurent.

The design and fragrance brand L’Objet has opened its first U.K. store there, while Zimmerman is set to open in the spring.

New restaurants include Cantinetta Antinori; Jason Atherton’s Three Darlings and David Yeo’s Azzurra restaurant, which specializes in Italian seafood.

Hugh Seaborn, chief executive officer of Cadogan, said the project marks a new era for the street. The aim, he added, was to create a “global yet local” feel and to encourage people to dwell in, and appreciate, the space.

Lululemon is flexing, with the opening of its largest store in Europe on Regent Street. The new flagship is double the size of the former one, with 8,923 square feet of retail space, and carries the full range of women’s and men’s collections.

Unique features include the brand’s biggest “pant wall” in Europe, and the largest assortment of menswear in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. It also showcases elements of the brand’s newest store design concept.

There is a water bottle personalization station and a staircase light feature, which changes tones depending on time of day.

The store opens Friday with activations including a newsstand takeover where guests can grab a Lululemon newspaper, with details about the new store. The newsstand will also host DJ sets, and performances from brand ambassadors including Phil Wizard, Olympic gold medalist in men’s breaking.

“Regent Street is one of the most important shopping destinations in the world,” said Sarah Clark, Lululemon’s senior vice president, EMEA, adding that the opening is part of the brand’s ambitions to quadruple International sales from 2021-2026.

As part of her pop-up series on Pont Street in London, Anya Hindmarch has opened Air Anya, a shop that looks back to the glamorous days of air travel, with a 1970s edge.

“It’s a tribute to traveling in the best possible style,” said Hindmarch. “I’m all for making the journey as glamorous as the destination, so I’m delighted to present our latest concept store, offering ways to add a little luxury — and fun — to your travels.”

The store spotlights the brand’s Bespoke Walton collection with a trolley, travel bags, totes and vanity cases which can all be personalized with letters and inscriptions.

Hindmarch has designed a new in-flight tote, which sits over the trolley. There are also bag charms, pouches, charms and tags inspired by the graphics of those vintage carriers British Airways Concorde and Pan Am.

The pop-up runs until April 6, and is part of a clutch of Anya Hindmarch stores dedicated to her bespoke home accessories, and the seasonal collections in addition to the Anya Cafe in an area she’s dubbed The Village.

Past concepts have included Anya Mart, a supermarket-cum-corner store stocking scented candles, bags, charms, totes and other small gifts and accessories that fuse her branding with a host of familiar grocery items.
