According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the Scandal alum, 58, and Merwin have entered into an agreement to terminate their marriage and have their marital status return to single.

The former couple decided to keep further judgment “confidential” based on the former couple’s “personal privacy interests.” However, the filing indicates the agreement “resolves all matters pending” between Malina and Merwin.
Malina’s rep did not immediately return PEOPLE’s request for comment.
The settlement comes nearly five months after Merwin filed for divorce from the actor, citing irreconcilable differences, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE. They had been married for 28 years.
In the Aug. 2 filing, Merwin did not indicate the former couple's date of separation but noted they got married in 1996 and currently have no minor children. The pair share two adult children: 22-year-old Avi and 26-year-old Daisy.
At the time, Merwin noted that she planned to request spousal support from Malina.
