Wendy’s Is Finally Bringing Back Its Most Requested Frosty
We've all been waiting.
It’s not a milkshake, and it’s not ice cream—it’s a Frosty. The beloved frozen treat has been a staple on Wendy’s menu for the past 50 years, and it’s easy to see why. The Frosty has paved its own path in the fast-food industry, being a unique dessert that doesn’t fit into just one box. It’s not scoopable like ice cream, and it’s also thicker than a traditional milkshake, giving fans the option to sip with a straw, eat it with a spoon, or even dip hot French fries into it.
The chain stays true to its roots, keeping the original Chocolate Frosty available year-round, but the Ohio-based restaurant never stops innovating. It now offers fans a range of limited-time flavors, including Strawberry, Orange Dreamsicle, and even Peppermint, to keep its menu exciting throughout each season.
Now Wendy’s is bringing back one fan-favorite Frosty to locations nationwide, but only for a limited time.
The Vanilla Frosty Returns to Wendy’s
After a months-long hiatus, Wendy’s is bringing back the Vanilla Frosty. Fans have been desperately awaiting the return of the beloved flavor which is frequently replaced with the chain’s seasonal offerings. According to the Wendy’s Frosty FAQ, seasonal syrups are added to the vanilla base, which explains why vanilla Frostys are only available a couple of times a year.
The Vanilla Frosty was last seen in September before being replaced by the "Spongebob Squarepants" Krabby Patty Kollab Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty in October. Then, it stayed away to make room for the new Salted Caramel Frosty in November. Many fans are used to the Vanilla Frosty disappearing in the fall and winter months—however, usually, it's for Wendy's Pumpkin Spice Frosty and Peppermint Frosty, both of which didn't return to menus in 2024.
Despite Wendy's switching up its seasonal Frosty offerings, the brand is staying true to its traditional timeline by bringing the Vanilla Frosty back in January.
To make the Frosty's return even better, there's still time to buy Wendy's Frosty Key tags, which allow you to redeem a free Jr. Frosty every day in 2025. The tags cost $3, with 90% of proceeds going to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, and can be used to redeem free Chocolate or Vanilla Jr. Frostys all year long.
Wendy's Frosty Key Tags are on sale through Feb. 15 and valid through Dec. 31, so buying one now means you can enjoy a free Vanilla Frosty every time it's available. But only time will tell what Wendy’s comes up with next, so if you’ve been waiting for the Vanilla Frosty, you’ll want to act quickly because it’s only a matter of time before the chain drops its next flavor.
