Yahoo Lifestyle Wendy’s New Fall Menu Item Leaves Fans Extremely Divided
Wendy's is warming up to the fall season with a few new menu items, one of which immediately won fans over and another that has some scratching their heads and saying "eugh."
About a week ago, the fan-favorite burger joint revealed it would be adding an all-new Frosty flavor to its menus as it phases out its limited-edition Pineapple Under the Sea soft serve, which it made available at the beginning of October 2024 as part of an exclusive SpongeBob SquarePants-inspired meal.

While prospective customers were head over heels for the seasonal Salted Caramel Frosty flavor–even if it means saying goodbye to Wendy's classic vanilla frozen dairy treat–the savory entrée coming along with it is not everybody's cup of tea.
This November, Wendy's is adding a Mushroom Bacon Cheeseburger to participating menus nationwide. According to a statement shared directly with Parade, the limited-time offer features "savory roasted mushrooms, crispy bacon, Muenster cheese, and creamy garlic spread all piled high on Wendy’s fresh, never frozen beef" to deliver a "comfort food experience like no other cheeseburger."
But when food blogger Snackolator shared the news with fans on Instagram, the responses were a mixed bag at best.
Some were ecstatic, with one simply declaring the new burger a "need."
"I've never had a Wendy’s burger before but this one sounds good," another admitted. "I love mushrooms."
"I’m all in on this," a third agreed. "Checkers used to have a burger line this and I would get it once a week."
"I’ve been waiting for the Bacon Mushroom melt to return," someone else confessed, lamenting, "I guess this is the closest we are going to get."
Others, however, were completely thrown off, telling the influencer (and Wendy's) that they could "keep" the sandwich.
"Eugh," a second said in disgust.
"Remove the mushrooms and we're good," another joked.
"Nobody asks for mushrooms on their burgers. 🤢🤮," someone else boldly declared.
Regardless of how you feel about the new release, it's coming in hot–and soon. Both Wendy's fall Frosty flavor and its new Mushroom Bacon Cheeseburger are expected to hit menus at participating U.S. locations on or around Tuesday, Nov. 12, according to the chain.
