Welcome to Camp Aknvas for Spring 2025
Christian Juul Nielsen went straightforward for his latest offering: Nordic Midsummer Camp. Similar to camp in the U.S., Scandinavian kids go away to have fun and frolic during the warmest months. He used the idea to break his collection into four different sections: urban scout, monochromatic, flower fields and radiant dew.
The scout section: “So these are the uniforms as they arrive,” he said, showing a mix of twisted denim cropped jackets with oversize sleeves, HotPants and super tall shaft boots — a collaboration once again with Stuart Weitzman.

“Then little by little, the boys and the girls, they start interacting,” sartorially speaking. The first male look used blue pinstripe menswear fabric but on a utility hooded parka, shorts and more. Yes, the mixing had begun, with Juul Nielsen’s sporty details mixed with craft moments — he loves a rosette and the collection had many.
Flower fields were next and his handwork showed with crochet dresses, jackets and and eyelet pieces. He had a few red coverall-like uniforms with shorts and swan designs — it’s the national bird of Denmark, his homeland — but a hint of purple eyelet poked out. He rounded it all out with a section of color pops on bra tops, short shorts and oversize pieces, vegan leather jackets and a finale of cream sequins on lace pieces that glistened like the dew.
New for the designer: handbags, shown with many looks, a taste of what is to come from the growing brand with a distinctive Scandinavian meets craft meets cool kid aesthetic.
