A woman has asked for advice about her choice of wedding attire, sparking a debate online about whether or not the white dress was appropriate to wear.

The woman shared photos of what she had purchased to Netmums, admitting she was worried about upstaging the bride.

“The dress I wanted to wear to the wedding wasn't delivered in time, so I panicked bought this one last night,” she wrote.

"I completely didn't think about it being white. Argh. I'm going to have to get another one aren't I?”

Most people actually thought the dress was “fine” and definitely not “too white” to wear.

"It's clearly not a wedding dress. Someone wore something similar to my wedding and I didn't mind at all,” one person commented.

"I wouldn't have an issue at all. It isn't bridal looking so you would get away with it,” another agreed.

“I don't think it's too white,” was another comment.

There were some however that thought it wasn’t worth the risk of potentially upsetting the bride.

“I wouldn't risk anything that white for a wedding. Stay well clear just to avoid the bride thinking it was done on purpose and just order a new dress,” one person wrote.

“The rule is not to wear white to a wedding and that dress is more white than any other colour. So many more colours to choose from.”
