Yahoo Lifestyle New 'WCTH' Clip Has Fans Buzzing About Elizabeth and Nathan's Romance

Who's ready to embark on one of the greatest love stories in Hope Valley? Well, at least we hope that's down the line for two fan-favorite characters on When Calls the Heart.
The Hallmark drama is getting ready to premiere season 12 on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 9 p.m. ET, and folks are itching to see what happens with Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow), Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry), Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally) and other beloved citizens of Hope Valley. But while everyone waits for the show to return, WCTH's social media team decided to tease their followers with a small tour of the well-loved set. The Instagram video montage of clips from December 4 — which displays the barbershop, the infirmary, Abigail's, Lucas' office in the Queen of Hearts saloon and other iconic spots — makes it clear that those working on the show are excited for an all-new season.
"Can you feel it? The anticipation is building for the season twelve premiere arriving January 5th at 9/8c on @hallmarkchannel!" reads the caption.
Given how fans saw Elizabeth and Nathan become the newest couple to grace Hope Valley, it didn't take long for them to share ideas of what they hope will happen in When Calls the Heart season 12.
"Nathan and Elizabeth get engaged and married and adopt each other's children," one person wrote in the comments, referencing Elizabeth's son and Nathan's adopted daughter. "I predict that in season 12 Elizabeth is probably going to be engaged to Nathan and maybe [there] might be a wedding happening in the same season like Mike and Mei had theirs last season!" another theorized. "Oh my goodness super stoked for Season 12!!! Been anxious awaiting the Elizabeth & Nathan storyline!!! ❤️❤️❤️," a different follower added.
As fans may remember, Nathan and Elizabeth had an on-and-off rapport ever since the former first appeared in season 6. Although Elizabeth was a widow after losing her husband Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing) and had broken off an engagement to Lucas in season 10, she and Nathan finally decided to give things a go in the season 11 finale.
While it's unclear what's going to happen with this new romantic duo, we do know there's a lot in store for When Calls the Heart season 12. Along with seeing Elizabeth and Nathan's relationship blossom, Lucas potentially will find a new love as well. And to top it all off, Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert will guest star for some episodes, and she'll likely shake things up in the quaint town as well.
