Watch 'The Voice' 4-Chair Turn That Michael Bublé Says Has a Voice Blessed By God

Night 3 of Season 27’s Blind Auditions on The Voice had not one, but two four-chair turns. The second being BDii (Brian Darden II), 31, originally from Hampton, VA now of Atlanta, GA, who closed out the night with his “world-class” performance of “Adorn’ by Miguel.

All four coaches–Adam Levine, John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Bublé–turned. But Kelsea, who was the final coach with a Block, decided to use it on Adam. Read on to see if it worked in her favor.

BDii comes from sports. His dream was to play professional basketball ,but an ankle injury ruined his chances. His father Brian told him, “You will last but so long in basketball, but your ability to sing, your vocals, is your gift. That can last you as long as you're alive." That gave him all he needed to move on and pursue music.

Obviously, with a four-chair turn, he’s headed in the right direction. And BDii sees The Voice as an opportunity to improve his ear for music and to learn how to move the crowd.

“It would definitely be a pleasure to work with any of these coaches,” he said in his video package. “I feel they all have something they can teach me.”

With Kelsea’s Block, BDii only had three coaches to select from. Hre’s how the wooing went:

“I don’t have an artist like you on my team,” Kelsea told BDii, explaining why she used her Block on Adam. “I knew he was really, really going to try, and I couldn’t risk it. I heard a lot of soul and R&B. But I heard a lot of pop in your voice, too. I know you’re probably [like,] ‘Yo, who are you? You’re in country music. What do you have to offer me?’ Let me tell you. I am actively on country radio, have crossover songs, and am pushing myself to write in different genres for other artists and with other artists. I’m doing all these things. I’m ride or die for music, I don’t believe in boxes.”

Then, Adam, who, as we mentioned, is blocked, jumped in. “I’m a sad, sad man because you are world-class; you are excellent. That is an ultimate sign of respect that she had to block me because I was too much of a threat. Makes me feel good." Then back to BDii, he said, "Honestly, you’re a bad a$$.”

Next to try to lure BDii to his team was Michael, who told Kelsea she made a mistake blocking Adam.

“She shouldn’t have blocked Adam. He’s not her threat. I’m her threat,” he said. “And I will tell you why, BDii, because you walked up here and you blew everybody away. God blessed you with that voice. I am going to tell you what my job is because as much as I enjoy being invited into people’s homes every year to celebrate the good Lord [he has a Christmas album], my job is to dominate all the holidays: Valentine’s Day is baby-making day. We need to get together here and through your music, help grow the population of America. You’re not going up against anyone. No one likes me, so choose me.”

Finally, John got the chance to give his spiel, and it was so excellent that Adam called it a “masterclass of pitchery.”

“I love that song, I love Miguel. Speaking of baby-making songs, I’ve written a few of them with Miguel,” John pointed out. “I know our music. That performance was so good. What I loved about it was how laid back you were. That approach to this song made it sexier, made it cooler and made you sound more confident. I remember having an artist similar to you named Mac Royals on my team a few seasons ago, and he just blossomed on my team because I knew what songs. We picked a dope D'Angelo. It went viral and he got so much attention that it propelled his career because we picked the songs that showed his character as an artist. I would love to help you do that on Team Legend.”

Then Adam asked, “Should I just get to the point here?”

Kelsea agreed, “Yeah, just rip off the Band-Aid.”

Adam said, “BDii, it’s an honor to ask you, who do you pick as your coach?”

To which BDii said, “I got to be honest, I love every one of y’all. I listen to every one of your albums. I’m a fan. Understanding the roots of where I come from, I’m going to go with my boy John.”

John, who had been very picky all night about who he turned for, said, “This is what I’ve been waiting for. I love the confidence he performed with. And Kelsea did my dirty work, blocking Adam.”

The Voice airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Streams next day on Peacock.
