Watch the sweet moment Prince William responds to a child asking if he's king
The Prince of Wales showed just how much of a natural he is with children during one of his latest royal engagements.
Prince William travelled to Toxteth in Liverpool to meet with students and learn about community groups working to support young people in the area.
There, he met a St Nicholas Catholic Academy pupil named Mohammed, who quickly warmed up to the royal and asked him some probing questions.
“Hello, are you the king?” the young boy asked William. You can see the moment in a video shared on X by the student’s school.
“No, I’m not, no. I’m his son,” William replied, referring to his father, King Charles.
The boy introduced himself as Mohammed, and he and the prince took a candid selfie video that was also shared on social media by the school. “Say cheese!” Mohammed adorably says. “Cheese!” William responds, with a wide smile.
The prince, of course, has plenty of experience with children, as he is father to Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis, who he shares with wife Kate, the Princess of Wales.
“Something to brighten up your day!!! So... one of our amazing year 5 Children managed to not only have a chat with @KensingtonRoyal Prince William, he also managed to get a selfie! #Appetiteforchange @StJosephCMAT” St Nicholas Catholic Academy wrote on X alongside the clips.

William sported a button-up fleece with a dark top and trousers for the visit.
The sweet video comes as it was announced that both the Prince and Princess of Wales will be undergoing a joint engagement for St David's Day.
The couple will visit Pontypridd in south Wales on 26 February, where they will meet members of the local community to learn about life in the town. Pontypridd was hit with severe flooding from Storm Bert and Storm Darragh in December 2024, and William and Kate will hear from local people who were affected.
