Watch This Postal Worker Really 'Deliver' on His 'American Idol' Audition

Post office employee Brajawn Upshaw had to check his nerves at the door when he auditions for Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Carrie Underwood on this Sunday’s American Idol.

The 21-year-old from Temple, GA, who has worked at the post office for three years, didn’t have the chutzpah to sign himself up to audition. So his mom Tasha did it for him without him knowing, but now he’s taking a big swing for his shot at a Golden Ticket to Hollywood, and he claims he was inspired by Luke Bryan’s documentary.

“I have held myself back a lot because I didn’t think I could do a lot,” Brajawn says. "Luke, I have to say thank you. I woke up one day to your documentary. And your dad [Tommy Bryan] was telling you to go out and live your dreams and if something didn’t work out, you could come back home to the peanut factory. I woke up, and I was crying. I woke up and said to God, 'I’m trying. But maybe I’m not trying hard enough.’”

Luke said, “That’s what life’s about, taking the big swings.”

“A big leap of faith,” Brajawn agreed. “If I can come out with a Golden Ticket, it’s showing my mom she’s right.”

For his audition, Brajawn chose “Lovely’ by Billie Eilish and Khalid. But did he take a big enough swing to get that Golden Ticket?
