'Wait, what?' Local news station goes viral for unknowingly capturing Zendaya in b-roll footage
A Boston news station went viral after unknowingly airing b-roll footage that captured A-list actress Zendaya walking around town.
The clip of WCVB's broadcast was posted on TikTok by viewer @chlomance shows Zendaya casually walking and talking with her mother in a crowded area. The video has over 500,000 views, as of Tuesday morning.
"WCVB Channel 5 shooting b-roll and not clocking they got Zendaya," the video's caption said.
The news station said it recorded the celebrity sighting "completely on accident" at the Newbury Street Holiday Stroll over the weekend.

Zendaya in Boston shooting a new movie
Zendaya is in Boston filming a new romance movie titled "The Drama" with her co-star Robert Pattinson.
In recent months, she has been spotted at Tatte coffee shop and admiring artwork at Rainbows Pottery, according to The Patriot Ledger, part of USA TODAY Network.
Fans have also captured her taking a stroll or filming scenes with Pattinson. She has also been seen with her partner, Tom Holland.
The actress also previously filmed her blockbuster hit, "Challengers," in the city.
Fans look forward to more Zendaya sightings
Chloe Mitchell, who shared the viral clip, spoke about her reaction when she realized it was Zendaya in the WCVB's newscast.
"We were watching Channel 5 and noticed that Zendaya was on the screen and I was like 'wait, what?" she told the outlet.
Mitchell added, "Will she be at the Celtics game tonight? Is she hitting up the Bruins next weekend? I wonder where else she’s been kind of lingering around Boston where people haven't noticed her yet."
