A&W Root Beer Fans Say They're Ready to Buy New Flavor 'By the Gallon'
A&W is jumping on the old nostalgia train with a summer release aimed directly at those who fancy the delicious flavors of a root beer float. We have officially entered the era of brands stepping outside of their comfort zones to experiment with new flavors in hopes of discovering something big. And while we are here for every single Blackberry Dr. Pepper and Strawberry Kiwi Sprite we can get our hands on, news of the incoming A&W Ice Cream Sundae has completely captured our attention.
“If this is as good as it sounds, I'm gonna need it by the gallon,” @snackolator captioned a post shared to Instagram teasing the new soda release. “Originally, this was rumored to be [released] early in the year,” @snackolator continued, “but it's been confirmed to be an August release which makes sense given that it's the perfect time for an A&W Root Beer Float”

And we couldn’t agree more. Those who find themselves sharing in our excitement can expect to find the new A&W Ice Cream Sundae flavor upon its August release available in both regular and zero sugar versions. As of right now, it is being reported that the new flavor will be rolling out with 12-ounce 12-packs, however, single cans have a chance of making an appearance as well. The new flavor brings together the classic combination of creamy vanilla and rich fudge to create a fizzy, sippable and delicious beverage.
As we count down the days until release, one can only hope more new flavors are on the horizon. While we will always champion the classic flavors from our favorite soda brands, it’s always a fun experiment to try something new. And if the new Ice Cream Sundae flavor is as much of a hit as we think it will be, who knows, maybe it will stick around for the long haul instead.
