What Are the Ingredients for Whipped Honey Coffee?
You only need three ingredients for whipped honey coffee, plus one handy little kitchen tool. Grab some coffee or espresso shots, honey and milk of your choice (plus a bit of ice) and a handheld frother.
How to Make Whipped Honey Coffee
Start by grabbing a pint glass (or other tall glass) and drizzling about a tablespoon of honey in the bottom (I used just over a tablespoon). Add a splash of hot coffee or espresso and whip with your handheld frother until it's completely mixed (this will take a minute or two). Then add ice, top with milk and add a bit more espresso to the top. Grab your favorite straw, stir and get ready to be wowed.
What I Thought of Whipped Honey Coffee
This was embarrassingly easy to make, but instead of following one recipe, I watched numerous TikToks and Reels on this trend, and ended up tweaking it a little bit to make it way easier for the home barista (that’s you). This one doesn't have to be as complicated (or as sticky) as the internet is making it out to be.
A lot of the recipes called for way more honey (one cup in one of them!) so the recipe essentially made 5 servings, but I didn't think this was necessary. These recipes also called for hauling out your stand mixer, which I'm sorry, I'm not willing to do on a weekday morning. I revamped and tested until I got it down pat. And oh boy, was it worth it.
My first sip was starkly sweet compared to what I’m used to in my morning coffee (practically no sugar), but I quickly adjusted to the earthy sweetness the honey added to my espresso mingled with the vanilla almond milk in my glass. By the second sip, I started to feel like I had indeed treated myself to a special at my local coffee shop, rather than what it actually was—a superior-tasting latte made in my pajamas in the comfort of my own home.
So, will I be shelling out $8 for a latte anytime soon? Probably not. Whipped honey coffee is my new go-to, and it’s giving all the coffee shop vibes—without the price tag or the need to leave my house. If this is the future of little treats, my wallet is about to be very, very happy.
