The Viral Recipe That Has Us Rushing Out to Buy Asparagus

However, I find that a lot of these recipes are fun enough to try once, but not nearly good enough to ever make again. To find a viral recipe in 2025 worth adding to your regular cooking rotation happens on rare occasion. Once in a while, though, it will happen. I stumbled upon this recipe for sheet pan asparagus Parmesan. shared by food content creator Diane Morrisey and suffice to say, I tried it and it's a surefire keeper. Here's how it all went down.

How to Make Asparagus Parmesan
Start by preheating the oven to 400°. Add a bit of olive oil to a flat baking pan and cover your trimmed asparagus stalks in the oil. Place stalks in a row on a baking pan. Pour a layer of marinara sauce across the middle of the stalks, followed by folded slices of provolone, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan and some breadcrumbs. Place the baking pan in the oven for about 10 to 14 minutes, or until the cheeses are melted. And that’s it!
For an optional finishing touch, place the pan in the broiler for a short minute or two to allow the cheese to brown with the breadcrumbs.

What I Thought of Asparagus Parmesan
I think this has to be the best asparagus I’ve ever made, and that’s mostly due to the fact that it reminds me of pizza. A while back my girlfriend tried to make us a broccoli-based pizza and I couldn’t even pretend to like it. Now we know where we went wrong. We should have replaced the broccoli with asparagus, because she and I both agree that this recipe is a keeper. I wouldn’t dare compare it to chicken Parmesan. But if I were to judge it without comparison, this asparagus Parm passes the test and I will be make it again in the future.

Tips for Making Asparagus Parmesan
The only tips I have for this recipe is to season the asparagus with a bit of salt and pepper. This was missing from the recipe, but it helps add to the overall flavor. But to truly take things to the next level, add red pepper flakes. I personally believe that they can go on almost any and everything. But since this dish tastes so much like pizza, it truly adds a nice foil to a cheesy pie.
