The Viral Recipe That Has Us Rushing Out to Buy Oranges
Zesty oranges, which are in season right now, are a delicious way to squeeze some vitamins and minerals into your winter diet. Everyone knows that orange juice is rich in vitamin C and boosts immunity, among many other benefits. But not everyone wants to go around chugging orange juice all day to help keep you healthy during cold and flu season.
That's why this orange cake is such a great idea! This is a dessert that’s as bright and cheerful as a summer day, but it's perfect for those cold, dreary months when you need a pick-me-up and a boost of immunity support.
Shared by one of our favorite food creators, Snejana Andreeva (@themodernnonna), this cake is super easy to make in the blender and one of the best parts is it starts with a whole orange with the peel and all to bump up the citrus flavor. We can't wait to give it a try.

Why You Should Make Orange Cake Using a Whole Orange
"Did you know if you put a whole orange in a blender you can make the most epic cake?" Snejana asked in an Instagram post. "If you have been looking for an easy and moist whole orange blender cake, you’ve come to the right place."
We love this idea!
She listed the ingredients and instructions in the caption of her Instagram post, so you can find it all there. To get started, though, you will need room-temperature eggs, oil, granulated sugar, one whole seedless orange, lemon extract, flour, baking powder and salt.
You'll put all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until it makes a cake-like batter. Pour into a parchment-lined loaf pan and bake at 350° for around 20 minutes. That's it!
"This cake is so light, citrusy, and always on rotation," Snejana said in the caption of her post. "The subtle hints of orange and lemon make this cake irresistible. My mom and I wanted to bring you a simple cake recipe that didn’t require having to separate the orange zest/skin from the juice. We wanted to show you that using the whole fruit is just as good (if not better)!"
She added that even people who aren't experienced bakers can make this sunny, bright cake.
Want to really take things up a notch? Add a glaze with an orange drizzle or dust this cake with powdered sugar for a pretty (and wintery) finishing touch.
This whole orange blender cake is also a social media favorite, so if you're looking for other variations on the recipe, do a search on TikTok or Instagram to see all of your many options.
