'The View's Joy Behar Makes Bold Declaration About Co-Hosts Who Were 'Mean' To Her
Joy Behar isn't one to hold a grudge.
The longtime co-host of The View recently opened up about her philosophy when it comes to dealing with "toxic" friends, which she admits isn't something she spends much time worrying about.
During the conversation on the Friday, Feb. 21 episode, Behar expressed her ability to forgive and forget, noting that she hardly even remembers when anyone—even one of her co-hosts—gives her a hard time.
"I don’t remember who’s mean to me, even at this table," Behar, 82, declared, prompting co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin to insist, "No one at this table has been mean to you."
Behar then clarified, "Not now," while noting that she has been sitting at The View table for 28 years—plenty of time to butt heads with her co-hosts from over the years.
Behar didn't divulge any further details about previous tiffs with former co-hosts, although her tenure on the show has been nothing short of tumultuous.
After starting out as one of the original co-hosts when The View premiered in 1997, Behar stayed on the show until she was fired in 2013. She later revealed that her firing was because of "somebody [who] wanted me gone," as she explained in an interview with PEOPLE in 2017.
It all became water under the bridge when Behar was invited back on the show in 2015, once again becoming one of the program's permanent hosts—and she seems to have no hard feelings about the involuntary hiatus.
Behar told TIME magazine in 2022 that she was "glad to be fired" at the time, but she couldn't even remember exactly what sparked her feelings of contempt back then.
"I basically was sick of the show at that point for some reason, I don’t even remember why," she said, seemingly proving that forgiving and forgetting really does work for her—especially the forgetting part!
