Venus Williams Embraces a Statement Neckline With Textual Minidress for ‘Challengers’ Premiere Red Carpet
Venus Williams hit the red carpet for the premiere of “Challengers” on Tuesday in Los Angeles. The seven-time Grand Slam champion joined the likes of Cynthia Erivo, Tina Knowles and more A-list stars for the event.
For the occasion, the tennis pro fashioned a gray minidress with an avant-garde design and modern silhouette. The look featured textual elements on the fabric and a statement neckline that rounded Williams’ shoulders.

The decorated athlete paired the look with strappy black heels and delicate jewelry, including a string necklace and small hoop earrings. Other stars who attended the Los Angeles premiere included Zendaya in her custom Vera Wang gown and Storm Reid in Raisa Vanessa.
Along with making appearances at major events like the “Challengers” premiere and her sister Serena Williams’ Wyn Beauty launch, and continuing her competitive tennis career, Williams has been busy with her own independent business ventures as of late. In November 2023, the tennis star partnered with Reinstein Ross on the Diamond Match collection, marking Williams’ first venture into jewelry.
“The collection was inspired by a ring that I have worn so often in my matches,” the legendary tennis star told WWD at the time, adding, “I sweat for a living and I still want to feel fabulous. That’s why I practice wearing these big pavé rings and hoop earrings on the court because it’s an expression of self.”
Williams has always used fashion as an outlet to express herself, especially when she’s been on the tennis court. Whether it’s the beaded hair she sported when she first came onto the women’s tour, or the creative kits she fashions throughout the season, Williams’ approach to fashion is “always changing and evolving,” she said.
“Challengers” is directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Luca Guadagnino and stars Zendaya, Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor in a twisted love triangle set against the backdrop of the competitive tennis world. The film hits theaters on April 26.
