Vanna White Shocks by Revealing She Works on ‘Wheel of Fortune’ For Just 34 Days a Year: ‘But We Film Six Shows a Day!’
Vanna White recently shocked the hosts of “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” by revealing that she only works on “Wheel of Fortune” for 34 days a year. She has been the co-host of the iconic game show since 1982, where she worked alongside Pat Sajak for 42 years. Sajak retired from “Wheel of Fortune” last year. White now co-hosts with Ryan Seacrest.
“We film about 34 days a year,” White said as radio Elvis Duran and Danielle Monaro gasped in surprise. “That’s it. But [we film] six shows a day. Come on… You could feel bad for me.”

“I do not feel sorry for you one bit,” Duran quipped back. “That sounds like a great job.”
“That’s six different dresses a day,” Monaro added, to which White replied: “It is!”
When asked if that meant she gets 331 days off a year, White answered: “Yeah, I guess so. I’ve never looked at it like that.”
White extended her “Wheel of Fortune” contract by two years in 2023, which keeps her on the air through the 2025-2026 television season. Her new deal came amid reports that she was concerned for her future at “Wheel” after executives reportedly thought she was “replaceable.” It also came on the heels of reporting in Puck that White had not received a pay raise in 18 years. TMZ reported that White negotiated a “substantial pay increase” for her new deal after she was reportedly making $3 million per-year.
During her interview with Elvis Duran, White admitted that “of course” working alongside Ryan Seacrest has been an adjustment after her four decades of co-hosting “Wheel” with Sajak.
“Pat decided to retire. I saw him a few weeks ago,” she said. “He looks happy. He looks great. Ryan took over, and he’s doing a great job. He told me, ‘No one could ever replace Pat Sajak. I’m just here to fill in.'”
“Wheel of Fortune” is currently in its 42nd season.
