Urgent recall for supermarket salami

An urgent product recall has been put in place for a popular packaged salami, after the brand failed to declare a common allergen.

A release shared by the NSW Food Authority urged people who purchased Primo’s Mild Salami 25 per cent Less Salt in the 80g packs to not consume the product if they have either an allergy, or are intolerant to milk.

Affected products had a best before date of July 19, 2024, and were sold across Australia, including Coles stores in NSW, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania, and Woolworths in those listed states, plus Queensland.

The popular lunch time filling was also sold at Brave Logistics in South Australia, and independent retailers, like IGA, in NSW, Victoria, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Customers who purchased the product have been advised to “return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund”.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice,” the recall alert said.
