A New Twist and a Double Elimination! Who Went Home in 'The Amazing Race 37' Premiere Tonight?
The Amazing Race kicked off its 37th season in a new, game-changing way. While this iteration of the Emmy-winning series started the premiere with a record 14 teams, it ended with 12. The double elimination came as a result of the brand-new "Fork in the Road" twist, the first of many shocks in what's been forecasted as a "season of surprises."
Check out our spoiler-filled recap below to find out who went home from the race in the premiere tonight.
Who was eliminated in The Amazing Race 37 premiere tonight?
Mark Crawford and Larry Graham – Best friends
Mark and Larry were self-admitted fish out of the waters of the Mississippi River. For Larry, The Amazing Race was his first trip out of the country. And, unfortunately, his first day abroad was one to remember for all the wrong reasons. The best friends chose to take the dancing task when they hit the Fork in the Road. But that proved to be their undoing, as their difficulties operating a lion head had them feeling far from pride. Their race was cut short in the first leg, with Larry crying on the mat about how much his friendship means to him.
Jackye Clayton and Lauren McKinney – Sisters
Jackye and Lauren came to The Amazing Race so their mother, whose Parkinson's diagnosis stymied her travel dreams, could journey vicariously through them. Unfortunately for the sisters, it was not a long journey. The two fell behind as quickly as the first task, as Jackye faced her previous trauma from a fall down the stairs. Indeed, throughout their time in Hong Kong, the two had so much admiration for not only the race, but each other. And so, even though they went out in the premiere, it was with their heads held high.
