TVLine Items: Dungeons & Dragons Netflix Series, Martha Stewart’s NBC Cooking Competition and More
It’s now Netflix’s turn to roll the dice on a series adaptation of the iconic tabletop roleplaying game Dungeons & Dragons, our sister site Deadline reports.
Titled The Forgotten Realms, the live-action project — which is still in early stages of development — is being executive-produced by Shawn Levy (Stranger Things), Dan Levine (Shadow and Bone), Drew Crevello (WeCrashed) and Hasbro Entertainment. Crevello will also write and serve as showrunner.

If this sounds familiar, that’s because a live-action Dungeons & Dragons series was originally plotted at Paramount+ in January 2023, before ultimately being scrapped in May of the following year.
For the uninitiated, Dungeons & Dragons is a game in which players create their own characters and embark on a quest overseen by a chosen Dungeon Master. The game has been played on TV by many characters over the years, including the kids of Stranger Things, making Netflix the logical home for a live-action series.
Ready for more of today’s newsy nuggets? Well…
* Martha Stewart and José Andrés have been tapped to host Yes, Chef!, a new cooking competition series for NBC in which 12 egotistical chefs will compete for a $250,000 grand prize by achieving two goals: “impressing with both their food and teamwork, while improving their behavior.” Yes, Chef! premieres Monday, April 28 at 10/9c after The Voice.
* Four more actors have joined Prime Video’s Jack Ryan movie: Max Beesley, Douglas Hodge, JJ Feild and Betty Gabriel. While Gabriel will be reprising her role from the Jack Ryan TV series, the others are all newcomers to the franchise.
* The Oscar-nominated film Sing Sing, starring Colman Domingo and Clarence Maclin, will begin streaming on Max Friday, March 21, followed by a linear HBO debut on Saturday, March 22.
* Starz has acquired the rights for a series adaptation of All Fours, Miranda July’s 2024 novel about a woman who embarks on a journey of self-discovery and sexual awakening during a turning point in her life.
