TVLine Items: Cynthia Erivo Is Tonys Host, Poker Face Sets Guest Stars and More

Something has changed within the Tony Awards: Wicked star Cynthia Erivo will host the 2025 ceremony, airing live from New York City’s Radio City Music Hall Sunday, June 8 at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT on CBS (and streaming on Paramount+).

Ariana DeBose has emceed the awards telecast for the past three years.

“I am so proud and excited to take on this glorious honor,” Oscar nominee Erivo said in a statement. “I am looking forward to ushering the theater community at large through a night that celebrates the wonderful performances we have witnessed throughout the year. I hope I can rise to the occasion.”

Nominations for the 78th Annual Tony Awards will be announced Thursday, May 1.
