Yahoo Lifestyle A Viral Photo From A Recent Drake Concert Is Being Described As “Dystopian” And “Chilling,” And The Reason Why Is So Sad
If you're a fan of Drake, you might be aware that he's known for giving his fans money pretty frequently. Just last week, he gave out a total of $45k in Australia between two fans who held up signs in the audience.
After reading one sign that shouted out Drake’s 7-year-old son, Adonis, the rapper told the fan, “We’ll start here with you because you’re showing a lot of love to my son. On behalf of me and my son… We’re going to give you $25,000 for your family.”
He then drew attention to another fan with a sign that read, “Kiss me, it’s my birthday.” Drake said, “I can’t see from here, so I can’t judge if I’m going to kiss you. But what I am going to do is I’m going to give you $20,000 and I’m going to pay for a birthday dinner for you and all your friends tomorrow night.”
Well, at his recent Australia show, several concertgoers showed up with far more...candid signs.
In a photo shared by @ComplexMusic, Drake can be seen on stage in front of fans holding signs that ask for financial help with all sorts of things — from mortgage payments to vet bills.
“Help my BF buy me an engagement ring,” one sign reads. “Help pay off my mum’s mortgage," says another, while a third reads, “Give my father a break.”

The photo has since gone viral on X, with several users describing it as “chilling” and “dystopian.” “this is one of the most genuinely dystopian photographs I’ve seen in recent months,” one popular tweet reads. “this photo is actually sad as hell,” says another.
“people are desperate for a break,” someone wrote, while another person added, “sign(s) of the times.”
However, on the other hand, some users couldn't help but raise their eyebrows over the fact that people who likely spent huge amounts of money to attend the concert front-row were begging for money. “Floor seat to a stadium concert but you begging for Vet bills,” one person wrote. “obviously idk these people situations but they front row and still begging like oh dear what a picture,” said another.
“Why are you paying for a Drake concert ticket and asking for money?” someone questioned, while another echoed, "Do they like his music or are they all just there begging for money?"
