Trixie Mattel Trades Barbiecore For Another Toy-Inspired Look: See Her Awesome Accessory
The drag queen turned reality TV star also discussed her return to social media exclusively with PEOPLE
Trixie Mattel is rethinking pink...at least for one night.
The RuPaul's Drag Race alum arrived at the Vanderpump Dogs Foundation Gala last Friday, Nov. 15, 2024 wearing a toy-inspired look, but not her usual Barbiecore style. (Her drag name is Mattel, after all).
Instead, the drag performer turned reality TV and YouTube star, 35, donned a white Furby stole, which she joked was a tongue-in-cheek choice for the charity event that benefitted Lisa Vanderpump's dog rescue.
"Tonight is about loving animals, and I'm gonna say that this Furby died of natural causes," Mattel joked about the animatronic toy that was a must-have in the late '90s. "Its double-A batteries died."

Mattel donned a shimmering sky-blue gown that matched the palette of her new Snow Bunny makeup collection. Her signature sky-high, blond Dolly Parton-esque wig completed her wintery wardrobe.
"She's always in there somewhere," Mattel said of the legendary singer.
Mattel also weighed on her return to social media after a months-long hiatus.
"When I left social media, it was a dumpster fire, and now it's more like an entire dump on fire." she told PEOPLE exclusively after her self-imposed break last June. "But you know, my break taught me something very valuable — that drag is fun and enjoyable, and it's not worth stressing out about. Besides, I live on the fun side of the internet."
Mattel also weighed in on how members of the LGBTQ+ community can thrive amid a changing political climate.
"Well, you know that thing, like, 'When they go low, we go high.' I think that also means hair." Mattel said. "So let's see the wigs. Let's see the extensions. Let's see the Bumpits."
"I'm never gonna leave the United States," she concluded. "I'm gonna fight for everything that matters."
Mattel has had a long friendship with Vanderpump, appearing on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum's entertaining show Overserved with Lisa Vanderpump. Vanderpump, 64, returned the favor by guest-starring on Mattel's 2022 renovation series Trixie Motel.
