I Tried the Viral Waffle Kebabs and They're the Perfect Easy Weekend Breakfast
The other night, I saw a recipe for waffle kebabs and I immediately knew I needed to make it for my kids. The recipe was shared by content creator @dzunglewis and it ended up being one of my kids' favorite breakfast-for-dinner meals ever!
Waffles on a stick, layered with berries and topped with all the good stuff that makes waffles so great—of course it was going to be a hit with my kids! And the fact that it only took 10 minutes to make was a hit for me!

How to Make Waffle Kebabs
I started with frozen waffles, which were the real time-saver here. In the video, they make waffles from scratch in a mini waffle maker, but sometimes convenience wins, especially on a busy weeknight. I toasted up a few waffles and then cut each one into quarters so they were the perfect bite-sized pieces for skewering. If I had a little more time to plan, I could have picked up a box of frozen mini waffles, which would have made this recipe even easier (and cuter).
Next, I grabbed wooden skewers and started layering the waffle pieces with fresh strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. The color contrast alone was beautiful and the kids were instantly curious as they saw me building this fun dish.
Once the kebabs were assembled, I gave them a light dusting of powdered sugar and drizzled chocolate syrup over the top. To make it even more fun, I added a swirl of whipped cream on the side for dipping. It looked like something you’d see on the brunch menu of a trendy café, but it took me no more than 10 minutes to pull together.

What I Thought About These Waffle Kebabs
When I served them, my kids' eyes lit up. They each grabbed a kebab and after the first bite, they all declared, with mouths full and fingers sticky, that it was the best dinner I have ever made.
What I love most about this idea—besides how easy and fun it is—is how customizable it can be. You can swap out the fruit depending on what’s in season or what your family likes. Banana slices would be great. Apple chunks rolled in cinnamon sugar? Yes, please. Want to go tropical? Try pineapple and mango.
For toppings, you can add peanut butter drizzle, caramel or even a little Greek yogurt if you’re feeling extra wholesome. You can even turn it savory by using waffles with cheese cubes and crispy bacon bites or pieces of breakfast sausage, or go fancy and add Nutella and chopped nuts for a dessert twist. I also think it would be really fun to make chicken and waffle skewers for brunch or a tasty dinner party appetizer.
I’ll definitely be making these again soon, not just because they’re delicious, but because of how much joy they brought to the table. We laughed, got a little chocolate on our cheeks and everyone left the table satisfied. It reminded me that meals don’t have to be elaborate to be memorable. Sometimes, they just need a little creativity and a lot of love (plus some whipped cream never hurts).
