I Tried the Tyson Chiefs Nuggets for the Super Bowl and It's Game-Day Perfection
When it comes to snacks to eat while you watch sports, chicken nuggets are hard to rival. Growing up I would regularly munch on dinosaur-shaped nuggets as we watched football but now, as an adult, I've managed to find a shape that is better suited for this year's Big Game. Just in time for the Super Bowl LIX where the Kansas City Chiefs will be facing off once again with the Philadelphia Eagles, Tyson has created their newest fun-shaped chicken: the Chiefs Nuggets. These all-white meat breaded chicken pieces are shaped like Kansas City's iconic arrowhead team logo and pack in a whopping 13 grams of protein serving.
If you ask me where my football loyalties stand, I'll tell you I'm on team neutral. I'm a Taylor Swift fan so by that logic, I care about the Chiefs but I'm a East Coast-raised person with a lot of family who support the Eagles. But I, like so many of us in America, love the recipes that KC celebrities like Travis Kelce, Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes and Donna Kelce have shared with the internet. The team knows its food as much as it knows about football, which is why I was curious to try these chicken nuggets designed to embody the greatness of the team.

My Honest Review of the Tyson Chiefs Nuggets
First and foremost, I was delighted when I set my eyes on the bright red chicken nuggets bag printed with the KC arrowhead logo. I'm not a huge football fan but even I got hyped for the game just by the packaging alone. The frozen nuggets seemed firm, not too heavily breaded and looked like they had the potential to be super crispy once they cooked. It's never safe to assume, but boy was I right! After a quick 12 minutes in the air fryer, the Chiefs nuggets were super tasty. Whenever I've eaten breaded chicken nuggets from the grocery store before, I'm always left wanted less soft doughiness and more of something akin to the deep-fried golden nuggets from McDonald's. Here, I hit that platonic ideal. The nuggets were encased in a super crispy, almost crackly breaded coating I could audibly hear as I took bites. The meat was super well seasoned, juicy and tender.

As for the shape of the nuggets? Overall I'd give it a 8 out of 10 for execution. I was able to make out the arrowhead shape in many of the nuggets, but there was a considerable amount of the population simply shaped like amorphous blobs. Nonetheless, they were all snack-able and fun to dip into a medley of sauces. I paired my Chiefs Nuggets with Kansas City BBQ sauce to double down on the theme, then with sweet chili sauce for a little kick and then again with "seemingly" (definitely) Ranch dressing for cool creaminess. The combinations are truly endless. Tossing these nuggets in Korean yangyeom sauce honestly sounds unreal and I may just do that for my Super Bowl party.
