All you Mike’s Hot Honey fanatics better get your appetites in order; KFC has some scorching hot news that is intended just for you. The world-famous fast food chicken chain is teaming up with Mike’s Hot Honey for an exclusive offering and it will be available both in-person, online and on all major delivery apps starting next week.

In a sweet twist of events, I was invited by KFC to taste the new hot honey collaboration ahead of its February 9 release date, allowing me the ability to report back with all of its tasty details. As a fan of all things fried chicken and an enjoyer of Mike’s Hot Honey myself, I couldn’t wait to see what the two brands had in store.

What is KFC’s New Mike's Hot Honey Collaboration Meal?

Truly dreaming up a concoction that has never been done within the KFC ethos, this epic pairing brings together the savory, mouthwatering flavors of KFC and the sweet and spicy nature of Mike’s Hot Honey. Beginning February 9 (just in time for Super Bowl LIX), KFC with Mike's Hot Honey is set to drop in restaurants, on KFC.com and in the KFC app with two incredible $7 box meal deals:

• 3-Piece Original Recipe® Tenders: Perfectly juicy and crispy Original Recipe® Tenders elevated with the spicy drizzle of Mike's Hot Honey, plus the choice of an individual side and a buttery biscuit.

• 2-Piece Fried Chicken: Two pieces of their world-famous juicy fried chicken, coated in your choice of Original Recipe® or Extra Crispy™ goodness, and drizzled with the fan-favorite Mike's Hot Honey, plus your choice of an individual side and a buttery biscuit.

If either combination doesn’t quite suit your current craving, while supplies last, fans can try a drizzle of Mike’s Hot Honey on all of KFC’s nuggets and tenders sandwiches, making their orders as finger lickin’ good as they please.

What I Thought About the KFC Mike's Hot Honey Collaboration Meal

Upon first taste, I’d have to agree with the online sentiment that this pairing is a “match made in flavor heaven.” It is important to note, however, that this collaboration uses Mike’s Original Hot Honey product. So for those who might be worried this team up will be too hot, I personally found it to be more sweet than anything. In my opinion, Mike’s Original Hot Honey captures the perfect balance of sweet and heat, and it does wonders when added to fried chicken.

I’m interested to see where this new partnership leads, and if the future might hold a Mike’s Extra Hot Honey menu addition as an alternative to the original hot honey offering. The fast food chicken space in general has been experiencing quite the facelift over the past couple of years, with brands like Dairy Queen trying a new sauced and tossed menu and Wendy’s offering their new saucy nugs. Here’s hoping the tasty creations keep on coming.
