Travis Kelce Fans Compare Him to John Travolta With ‘70s Vibe’ Super Bowl Outfit

Travis Kelce arrived for the 2025 Super Bowl looking like he stepped right out of 1977’s Saturday Night Fever, according to fans who reacted to his game day outfit online.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end walked into Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, La., for Super Bowl LIX in the afternoon on Sunday, Feb. 9, wearing a chestnut brown suit jacket with shiny lapels, matching pants and brown-tinted sunglasses. He contrasted the look with a pair of black and white shoes that were mostly hidden by the fabric of his pants, which swished around his feet as he walked.

Kelce, who has drawn attention for his careful fashion choices throughout the 2024 NFL season, was applauded for his Super Bowl look online, with some fans noting that they “Love the 70’s vibe” as others said they “like the NOLA vibe for his outfit today.”

“GOAT MODE DEFINITELY ACTIVATED. LFG,” one fan cheered in anticipation of the Chiefs’ matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

One fan suggested the look might have been a nod to a historic event in the Kansas City team’s history. “First year Chiefs won a superbowl 1970.. 👀,” the person on X, formerly Twitter, wrote in reference to the Chiefs’ win against the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV.

Others drew comparisons to Kelce’s look and that of beloved movie characters.

“Ummmmm. They are gonna party all over Nola after the game in that 70s Dazed and Confused look. Cool, cool, cool 😎,” one fan predicted.

Kelce is “ready to be in the next Anchorman sequel,” another fan said as a third echoed the comparison, dubbing the NFL star “Ron Burgundy 🫣” after Will Ferrell’s character in the 2004 comedy. Another fan shared a GIF of Ferrell in character on X in response to a video of Kelce on route to the Super Bowl.

Many also compared Kelce’s look to that of John Travolta’s character in Saturday Night Fever.

“Mr Saturday Night Fever 🔥,” one X user tweeted as another asked, “How soon until the Stayin' Alive mix?”

Kelce’s outfit was giving “John Travolta, Saturday Night Fever vibes!” one fan agreed, a comparison reiterated by a GIF showing Travolta in the film.
