Ramen lovers will not want to miss out on Japan's multi-level museum dedicated to all things instant noodles.

Located just south of Tokyo in Yokohama, the Cup Noodles Museum immerses visitors in the history and culture of the packaged food known for its balance between bold flavor and quick convenience. The destination attracts locals and tourists alike with several exhibitions and art installations, like the Instant Noodles History Cube, which displays over 3,000 variations of the original product dreamed up by Momofuku Ando in 1958.

In addition to such impressive sights to see and opportunities to learn, the Cup Noodles Museum also offers some tastier ways to engage with the culinary sensation. Travel and food-focused content creator Kathryn Ling spoke to PEOPLE about her time spent at the facility.

Last year, Ling spent a night in Yokohama during a solo trip to Japan and made sure to stop by the ramen haven upon the suggestion of some friends.

"I saw a few videos online about the 'make your own noodles' experience, so that’s how I found out about it!" Ling tells PEOPLE.

The Food Inbox channel founder recapped her visit in an Instagram Reel and elaborated about the process of creating her customized ramen meal at the My Cup Noodles Factory attraction. (The creative experience, she notes, requires the purchase of another ticket in addition to the museum's general entrance free.)

Ling's video shows her decorating her personal Cup Noodles pot with colorful markers and working with museum employees to design the instant meal itself.

After the Australian Instagram creator finished pointing out which toppings she wanted to mix with the uncooked noodles, she watched her staff helper wrap it up into an "awesome edible souvenir."

"They package it up with shrink wrap and then a little plastic casing so you can wear it like a bag and it doesn’t get squished 😝," Ling summarized in her caption.

In addition to her pre-prepped meal souvenir, Ling sat down in the museum's Noodles Bazaar to chow down on a serving of ramen. The food hall offers a selection of Cup Noodles inspired by a range of global cuisines, though Ling stuck to classic flavors and "went for the OG chicken ramen with kimchi and corn for 250 yen," as she wrote in the caption.

The world traveler tells PEOPLE that she's returned to the Japanese hotspot several other times by herself and with her partner, Alex. She hopes other food fans will make the worthwhile journey into Yokohama as well.

"If you’re a fan of Japanese food and noodles, this will be right up your alley," says Ling.
