Michael has starred in every feature film Ryan has directed, which includes his 2013 debut Fruitvale Station, a biographical drama based on the events leading to the tragic murder of a young Black man named Oscar Grant, killed by the Bay Area Rapid Transit police at Fruitvale district station in Oakland, California.

The dynamic duo would later reunite in 2015 to reinvent the Rocky franchise to create a sports drama franchise of their own with Creed, Creed II (2018), and Creed III (2023) — it follows the life and career of the son of Rocky Balboa's former rival-turned-friend Apollo Creed.

And who could forget the superhero movies that introduced the world to T'Challa and Killmonger with Black Panther (2018) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), based on the Marvel comics of the same name.

Now, they're sinking their teeth into the horror genre with Sinners — a supernatural gothic action film that teases a "new version of fear." The synopsis reads, “Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (both played by Michael B. Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.”

In the wild trailer, we hear Michael's character Smoke provide a haunting voiceover explaining, "I’ve been all over this world. I’ve seen men die in ways I ain’t even know was possible.”
