Still not over Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague's breakup? Hi, same. But at least now we're getting an explanation for why the two went their separate ways.

During a recent interview with Men's Health UK, Tommy clarified that cheating wasn't the reason for the split (as many fans had theorized). Instead, the pro boxer said that he and Molly-Mae broke up due to his drinking.

"We broke up because I had a problem with alcohol and I couldn't be the partner that I wanted to be anymore," he explained. "It kills me to say it, but I couldn't."

According to the Love Island star, an injury is what led him to start "drinking more heavily" in the first place, and it was this habit that damaged his relationship. He also reiterated that "cheating was never a thing," despite gossip saying otherwise.

Though he's previously denied rumors of infidelity, this is the first time Tommy has addressed the *real* reason for the breakup. His ex Molly-Mae also previously alluded to an explanation that she and Tommy weren't ready to share with fans.

During a November 2024 interview with British Vogue, Molly-Mae noted that "no one will ever really know what went down" aside from Tommy and herself...but she suggested that her ex would likely "talk about things eventually."

She continued, "I do think that when he’s ready, like, maybe more will be said. But I think that’s for him to do on his terms. It’s not like it’s gossip, it’s real life and it’s, you know, it’s a really deep situation. It’s really sad.”

Even if there isn't a future for Tommy and Molly-Mae, he made it clear that their daughter Bambi remains a priority for them both. As he told Men's Health UK, "I just want to do my fights, earn my money, and look after my daughter."
