Today's Karl Stefanovic loses it over Matt Damon's TAB interview
Today show hosts Karl Stefanovic and Ally Langdon couldn't contain their laughter after Hollywood superstar Matt Damon took a live TV interview in the US from a local TAB.
The 50-year-old actor, who has been based in Australia filming, appeared on the US NBC Today to talk about his upcoming film Stillwater from a pub, and has basically become an honorary Aussie as a result.
During the interview Damon was also quizzed on how he heard about the rumours that his Good Will Hunting co-star Ben Affleck had possibly reunited with JLo.
“I just heard you guys (talking about it) waiting to come on TV … it‘s the first time I’ve heard about it. It’s a fascinating story,” he said jokingly. “I love them both, I hope it’s true, that would be awesome.”
Aussie entertainment reporter Brooke Boney flagged the bizarre appearance on Channel Nine's morning program on Wednesday, joking about how Matt did his interview from one of our "finest establishments".
Karl Stefanovic couldn't contain his laughter in the background, before saying: "He's at the TAB!".
Ally, who was clearly also amused, also quipped: "I hope he had a win."
"We should ask him for a tip," Brooke added, as the hosts continued to lose it at the desk.

Karl continued: "It was Budget night and he was at the TAB! He's a legend!"
With Ally adding, "Makes you love him even more doesn't it."
Fans also took to social media to share their love for the superstar.
"Doesn't get much Aussie than doing an interview from a Pub with a TAB in the background. Matt Damon now an Australian citizen," one person said on Twitter.
"Turning more Aussie before our eyes," another agreed.
“As a parent, it’s really personal.”
