Today host marries, but co-stars don't make it

Today show host Tom Steinfort is now a married man, after wedding his longtime love Claudia Jukic, on Thursday.

But while the family and friends were aplenty at the Hvar, Croatia, ceremony, none of his work colleagues are thought to have attended the celebration.

Regardless of the absences, the newlyweds appeared madly in love as they locked lips after the nuptials held at St Stephen's Cathedral in the picturesque town’s square.

In snaps of the day, which also included a reception at the 16th century Hvar Fortress, the pair were seen dancing in the street to the tunes of a traditional Croatian band.

Tom opted for a a classic dark suit while his new bride donned a full-length, pleated off-the-shoulder dress by New York-based designer Danielle Frankel.

A Today sendoff

Despite not making the trip to attend his big day, Tom’s co-stars did throw him quite the send off during his last pre-marriage Today appearance last week.

“Send us some wonderful pictures, we want to see you dressed up to the Nines,” anchor Deb Knight told her colleague during a special celebrations last week.

The breakfast show presented the TV star with a big hamper sponsored by department store, David Jones, before a joke was made about another shakeup to the hosting panel.

“Thank you very much and you’ll see me on the other side,” Tom said.

“You are coming back?” a nervous Georgie immediately responded, before the panel laughed.

Tom, who proposed to Claudia 14 months ago, joined the Today panel at the start of this year after the TV networked changed up its cast.

Karl Stefanovic was famously dumped from the brekkie show at the end of 2018, right after his own destination wedding.

Deb Knight stepped in as Karl’s replacement in 2019, while Tom took over Sylvia Jeffreys’ newsreading role.

Meanwhile Brooke Boney joined Richard Wilkins as entertainment reporter, while Georgie Gardner has continued steering the ship after taking over from Lisa Wilkinson.
