Yahoo Lifestyle TMZ Dropped a Major Update on Those Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson Divorce Rumors
Depending on what corners of the internet you lurk on, you might have noticed speculation that Jessica Simpson and her husband Eric Johnson are heading for divorce. Said rumors have been swirling for a minute, but they really kicked into gear yesterday. Mostly because Jessica posted the below Instagram with the v. cryptic caption "Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic. This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve 🎶 🎼 🤍🖤"
On top of that, TMZ reported that "two people directly connected to Jessica" spoke to divorce lawyers seemingly on her behalf. As the outlet put it, "late last month someone close to Jessica went to a Los Angeles divorce attorney and said Jessica was unhappy in her marriage and wanted to arrange a meeting with the attorney and Simpson." Apparently Jessica never ended up making contact with the lawyer.
MEANWHILE, Ashlee Simpson appeared to deny divorce rumors on her sister's behalf. At least that was the vibe when Ashlee was confronted by paps, who asked "Fans are speculating that Jessica might be hinting at a divorce in her recent Instagram post, do you know anything about it? Is that true? Do you know?"
In response, Ashlee offered a simple "no."
I mean, sure, that "no" might have been in response to whether or not she knows "anything about it," but still! Seems like Ashlee is shutting down rumors about her sister's private life for now.
