Viral TikToker Modern Working Girl — or Dacé, as she was known to clients — announced that she was fired from Mustang Ranch, the famed Nevada brothel where she worked for over eight years.

Last week, she filmed a video of herself packing up her room at the legal institution and shared that her boss, Madam Tara, asked her to leave. With tears in her eyes, the ex-employee reminisced on "so many memories" and "life-altering moments" that she had made in the building over the course of her career.

"I was here when I got the call that I'd been approved for my home loan and that I got my house and that my nephew was born," she recalled. "This feels like home to me, and it's hard to think about never stepping foot in here again."

For several years, the creator has shared numerous videos about her experiences at Mustang Ranch, her encounters with clients and about the sex work industry in general. She's answered millions of viewers' comments about her personal life and marriage, her compensation and how she got started at the world-famous brothel, which opened in 1971.

Later in the video, the TikToker — who has over 277,000 followers on the app — said her dismissal was "completely out of left field." She also mentioned that she was yelled at when she was called into the office and fired.

Neither the Modern Working Girl, Mustang Ranch nor Madam Tara immediately responded to PEOPLE's requests for comment.

The influencer did express her gratitude for Mustang Ranch's management, who allowed her to "pack at her own pace," a privilege the creator says not all women are afforded when they are asked to leave the establishment.

Though Dacé provided little detail about Madam Tara's reasons for firing her, the TikToker pointed out that she hadn't been posting much about the Ranch for a while.

"Even the Ranch content that I do make is just my funny stories that I have with my clients — there's a reason for that," she said. "Today is just the painful breakup that was coming, so I'm really excited about the next chapter of my life."

At the conclusion of her announcement post, the influencer addressed any followers she may have misled with her content: "I want to sincerely apologize, especially to the young women out there, if you got a skewed view of this industry, and the Mustang Ranch specifically, because of my videos," she added. "I am sorry."
