Woman's high cut booty shorts cause deadly problem: 'Stabbing pain'

A woman has revealed how her choice of outfit for a date left her in the ICU after she contracted a potentially deadly infection from her "uncomfortable" booty shorts.

Taking to TikTok, 25-year-old Sam from North Carolina, revealed she had to spent a week in hospital after wearing the high cut denim shorts for eight hours.

In the clip - which has been viewed over 8 million times - Sam said doctors told her she had cellulitis, a type of infection that affects the skin and the tissue underneath.

That had in turn developed into sepsis, which can often prove fatal.

"I spent a week in ICU where doctors tell me they may need to cut off the part of my arse that is infected and I was constantly having to show them every day," Sam said.

"They did not have to do the surgery (thank the good lords) but I did endure the trauma of my mother taking selfies of me while I’m asleep in the hospital bed."

Speaking to Buzzfeed about the incident, she says she knew her outfit hasn't been the best choice for a 'full-day date', but she chose to ignore it.

"The next day, I felt very sore and then started feeling ill - just not 100 per cent," she told the publication.

"That night, I noticed that I had a large bump where the chafing had occurred, and as time went on, it started becoming more painful," adding it felt like a "throbbing, stabbing pain".

She was rushed to hospital in septic shock, explaining she was "shivering, very breathless, could not walk and had extreme body aches".

While she did have to return to hospital again a month later as the cellulitis had returned, doctors were able to treat it with antibiotics and she's now made a full recovery.

It's been three years since the incident, and Sam is fully recovered and also revealed the date at least had been "worth it", as they are still together.

"He was an angel man in the hospital to me and we’ve now been together for over three years," she added in one of the comments.
