He’s been very vocal about his estrangement from his 37-year-old daughter in the past, and now Meghan Markle’s father has broken his silence on being snubbed from Archie Mountbatten Windsor’s christening.

The son of Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex was christened in a private ceremony on Saturday at Windsor Castle, with Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince Charles and Camilla all in attendance.

And now, the former Suits actress’ 74-year-old father has addressed being left out in the cold by the royal couple.

"I have been asked if I would have liked to have gone to Britain to see my new grandson being christened. I was an altar boy at age 12, a confirmed member of the Queen's church at age 14, and Archie is my new grandson, so of course I would have enjoyed being there for the blessing,” Thomas told the Mail on Sunday.

“Wishing Archie and his parents health and happiness."

A family friend told The Express that Thomas has been left ‘heartbroken’ by his daughter’s decision to phase him out of her new life.

"Thomas senior has come to the stark realisation that he may never see his grandson. This is affecting his health, and he fears that time is not on his side,” the source said.

"He has stayed quiet and out of the limelight with a glimmer of hope that Meghan would make him a secret part of the plans even just a notification about what was happening would have been a step.

"But there has been no caring father daughter phone calls or in-depth correspondence, which has left his head spinning.”

Despite not having her father, or her half-sister, Samantha Markle, at Archie’s christening, Meghan and Harry were joined by her mum, Doria Ragland on the day.

In an official photo released after the christening took place, the Sussexes can be seen surrounded by Archie's grandfather Prince Charles and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall; Prince Harry's brother Prince William and his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge; Duchess Meghan's mother Doria Ragland and Prince Harry's late mother Princess Diana's sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Baroness Jane Fellowes.

"This morning, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was christened in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle at an intimate service officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby,” a statement released by the palace read.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are so happy to share the joy of this day with members of the public who have been incredibly supportive since the birth of their son.

“They thank you for your kindness in welcoming their first born and celebrating this special moment. Their Royal Highnesses feel fortunate to have enjoyed this day with family and the godparents of Archie.”
