This hydrating cream, down to just $5, is sweet relief for painfully dry feet

Fans say the Dr. Scholl's formula is fast-acting and effective: 'I noticed improvement the first use.'

Important beauty PSA: Foot care is not just a summer thing. Yes, your feet may be hidden underneath thick socks and cozy boots right now, but winter can do a number on them in the form of rough, dry, cracked heels. Thankfully, there's an affordable fix: Dr. Scholl's Ultra Hydrating Foot Cream, on sale at Amazon for just $5.

Are dry, crusty feet lurking under those winter boots? This affordable cream can make them sandal-ready way before spring.

Why is this a good deal? 💰

First off, how many quality beauty and skin-care products out there are under $10? Not many. This lotion is already super affordable at $7, but tack on that 30% off and you've got a deal that's truly hard to beat.

Why do I need this? 🤔

I've been slathering Dr. Scholl's on my feet every other night before bed for well over a year now. The skin on my heels and around my big toe can get hard and dry, especially if I walk around the house barefoot, but this formula has kept my entire foot soft and smooth. Unlike other lotions designed to be used all over your body, this foot cream is formulated with urea, Epsom salt and essential oils that specifically target and heal the dry skin that's unique to feet. In the mix? Soothing peppermint, lavender and eucalyptus.

What reviewers say 💬

Dr. Scholl's Ultra Hydrating Foot Cream is a top-seller at Amazon with more than 3,500 five-star ratings.

Pros 👍

"The only cream that helped my cracked forefoot skin," shared this happy Amazon customer. "The moisture is noticeable for 24 hours. It decreases redness and heals the skin fast."

"Best product for dry and cracked heels," wrote another shopper. "I have severe cracks in the feet, and I tried many products. This is a lifesaver. ... Visible results, which you can see in few applications."

"I've always had dry feet. I play roller derby and that adds to it," said a third reviewer. "My feet were so crusty on my heels and my big toe! I found this and have been using it for about two weeks, at night, and my feet are completely soft now. I noticed improvement the first use. ... I don't think I will ever need to use a pumice stone again."

One five-star fan even found another use for it. "I have a really bad habit [biting my fingers] due to the dry skin," they revealed. "This cream corrected the dry skin on fingers and feet. I am happy with the results."

Cons 👎

A few shoppers took issue with the smell. "To me, it wants to be minty, though it smells like artificial mint. Not pleasant," explained a four-star reviewer. "I'd rather it had a fresh scent or no scent at all, though it's a great foot cream."

Another thing reviewers note? It takes some time to absorb. This four-star reviewer says that "it works" — but has some suggestions to curb the tackiness. "Make sure to apply when you're gonna put socks on and have them handy or are in bed for the night because it doesn't rub in too well," they explained. "You'll get footprints of lotion all over the floor if you have to get up."

This formula blends urea, essential oils and Epsom salt — it's like a long, soothing bath in a tube.
