The Veronicas speak out after cancelling their show last-minute: 'Unable to walk'

The Veronicas have broken their silence after abruptly cancelling their Sydney show just a few minutes before they were meant to perform on stage on Saturday evening.

Twins Lisa and Jessica Origliasso were scheduled for a 20 minute set at Bingo Loco XXL at Sydney Showground, however, fans were left furious when an MC suddenly announced that they had to cancel.

“The Veronicas are not feeling well and will not perform,” the man said to an angry crowd in a video obtained by Daily Mail.

“Please understand this is out of our control and it’s also out of the venue’s control.”

The ‘bingo rave’ event had promised a “huge night” for ticket-holders, complete with dance-offs, lip-sync battles and prizes before “a special guest performance by The Veronicas you’d be crazy to miss”.

Following the incident, Lisa took to Instagram on Sunday to reveal that a mystery illness was the reason behind the duo’s shock cancellation.

“Thank you to everyone reaching out after I was unable to make our appearance at Bingo Loco last night,” she posted on her Instagram Stories.

“An hour before the show I required sudden medical attention, and was unable to walk on stage or perform. I am sorry to everyone who was let down as we were looking forward to such a great event.

“As you know, our shows and fans have always been our top priority for 17 years. I am looking forward to feeling better and getting back on stage for you all again as soon as possible.”

The Veronicas, who competed on Celebrity Apprentice last year, are currently embarking on a national tour around the country in support of their 2021 albums Godzilla and Human.

On Friday they performed an unplugged show at Sydney’s Metro Theatre, and their next performance is scheduled for April 11 in Melbourne.
